To set the record straight,
We talk.
It's not as though we don't.
But it's always,
just
are you ok?
is everything ok?
All good,
you good?
Like military code,
like two soldiers.
In bunkers.
On opposite sides of the barbed!
And while these words
can mean a lot
to two soldiers,
in bunkers,
talking their first
or a last,
on opposite sides
of an impassible border,
they mean little to lovers!
For lovers know,
something about borders,
that soldiers don't.
