Falling

 'Ready?'

'Totally! .. like a broken statue, 

falling through the depths

of the ocean!'

'How can that be a metaphor

for readiness?' 

'It's experiential'

'but scientifically?

Wouldn't there be buoyancy?'

'Maybe 

but what has that got to do 

with how I feel about it?'

'About falling?

but a fall is a physical phenomenon!'

'A fall, maybe, 

but not falling, 

or the readiness to fall;

What could be more ready, 

than a broken statue, 

ready to fall

into the depths 

of the ocean, 

retiring, 

resigning, 

rejecting 'being', 

accepting even awaiting

the fate

that awaits it in turn!

What better place, 

would there be

for a broken statue 

to fall to, 

like a broken heart

falling into the depths of memory!' 

'But is that even a poem?'

'Are you even interested

in poetry?

What are you even doing

talking to a broken statue?

Are you even real?

Or just a thought in my head?'
